Kyoshi Kyle Nolan Started Training in Houston in 1980 under Master Ki Yul Yu (8th Degree Tang Soo Do). During this time he learned Korean Military Fighting Techniques and hand to hand combat. Kyoshi Kyle continued training at Yu’s Karate through 1989 with Certified Rank of 2nd Dan from the United State Tang Soo Do Association in 1987.
In 1983 Kyoshi Kyle began dual training with Master Jin Win Kim in Hapkido. This training was essential to contrast the hard attack style of Tang Soo Do with the soft fluid self-defense methods of Hapkido. Kyoshi Kyle received 2nd Dan in Hapkido in 1989.
In 1989 Kyoshi Kyle began training with Master St. Mary. There he formally trained other students in both the Hard and Soft techniques of self-defense. Kyoshi Kyle continued formal training with Master St. Mary through 1994.
From 2005 to the present Kyoshi Kyle has continued to train students in both Hard and Soft techniques when time permits. Kyoshi Kyle focuses his training techniques on body movement and strike placement while teaching students to only use precise contact with necessary force. This training teaches the student to unknowingly (subconsciously) visualize an opponent’s weakest points and strike effectively.
